Calgary’s Kayla Williams has found her musical niche in yacht-pop, a feel-good genre that pays homage to ‘70s soft rock icons like TOTO, Hall & Oates, and Steely Dan. With soulful vocals and contemporary production, she adds vibrant energy and a bold feminine flair to her music. Williams’ love of playful, lighthearted mid-’70s tunes with their funky hooks and bass-driven grooves inspired her to create her debut EP, RETRODELIA [2024].
A seasoned musician, 10-year vocal coach and 2024 nominee for Pop Artist of the Year for the Western Canadian Music Awards, Williams is no stranger to the stage – she has performed extensively throughout Western Canada. Her lighthearted energy offers a refreshing escape, showcasing the powerful force of femininity in music.
