Sustainability At Eastern Slopes Fest

On-site Green Team

We keep waste low by sorting everything into recycling, compost, beverage containers, and landfill. With compostable cups, eco-friendly vendors, and help from Little Big Recycling, we’re aiming for just one bag of landfill trash by the end of the weekend. Bring your waste to our Green Team stations to help us get there.

Supporting Local

Local matters. From our volunteer shirts (Mad Monkey Apparel, YYC) to merch (Showdown Merch, Sylvan Lake) to signs (Little Rock Printing, YYC) and craft beer (Big Rock Brewing, YYC), we keep it close to home. You can join in too—visit our NEW Art Market featuring local makers, artists, and curators. Handmade goodies, good vibes.

Climate Impact

Yes, festivals create emissions—from travel to food trucks—but we’re working to shrink our footprint. Our venue runs on solar power, and we’ve purchased verified carbon offsets to make ESMF carbon neutral (~2.39 tonnes of CO₂e). Want to help? Walk, bike, or take Calgary’s zero-emissions C-Train. Eco-travelers—come say hi at the festival!

We care about making our community (you!) feel welcome

Our rich roster of talent hosts a variety of representation, from backgrounds, cultures, genres, genders and all shapes of humankind. Our festival is a safe space for 2SLGBTQIA+, with gender neutral bathrooms onsite. We aim to keep the venue as accessible as possible with accessible washrooms, and a sensory-friendly garden space for anyone who needs a break.

Fun for all ages!

ESMF is family friendly! We have children activities planned throughout the day to keep your minions engaged and learning sponsored by Cherry Tree Lane Toys! Children under 12 get in for free! Playgrounds are located steps outside of the festival, well within range of the music for those littles who crave more play and parents who still want to groove out.
